I love the idea on switching off the browser and email. I recently tried this during an intense writing project, and it worked wonders. Probably saved 2 hours a day, especially the emails. I stuck to opening/answering (the short ones) three times a day and left more involved ones to just before 5.

And, I’m so impressed that you take a notebook to the pool. 😉 Sign of a true professional! 🙂

Yo! I found my younger brother! I’ve been working at home tech writing at least that long. Good advise! Reads like me except when a time-senstive tech book is in play. Then the hours get really long, and the breaks shorter.
